LES, LHS hold graduation exercises; Top PMAer to address graduates

TWO HUNDRED-six graduates receive their certificates and diplomas today, March 28, 2 p.m., as the university holds the joint elementary and high school graduation exercises at the Teatro Ilocandia located at MMSU’s main campus in Batac. First Lieutenant Geraldine Abigail Albano Hallar of the Philippine Air Force will serve as guest of honor and speaker.

Vera Lorenza Angelica M. Pinera of the Laboratory High School (LHS)-Science Curriculum (SC) in Batac, Beatriz Kay C. Datu of LHS-Laoag, and Lhorie Danne Jeanthrix P. Andres of the Laboratory Elementary School lead this year’s batch of graduates.

Laboratory High School-Science Curriculum

 

Pinera, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Conrad Pinera of Brgy. Mangato, Laoag City, obtained a general weighted average of 1.35637 to become the LHS-SC class valedictorian. She is also the highest achiever in biology, physics, mathematics, English, Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE)—homemaking, and recipient of the Gerry Roxas Leadership Award.

 

Josiah Patrick P. Bagayas, getting a GWA of 1.42423, graduates as salutatorian of the class and highest achiever in chemistry, social science, and TLE (agriculture).

 

Following Pinera and Bagayas in the honor list are : Jonathan Paul T. Ladera, first honorable mention (1.45598) and highest achiever in computer science and music, arts, and physical education (MAPEH); Leah Marie B. Ronduen, second honorable mention (1.46794); and Nicolette Dominic M. Tejada, third honorable mention (1.47758).

 

Graduating \"with distinction\" are: Addielou Fidelfio E. Abad (1.49444), Jona Zenita R. Camagon (1.52158), Stephanie T. Labasan (1.55448), Janine P. dela Cruz (1.56149), and Alfie D. Monje (1.56670).

 

Camagon is also highest achiever in science research. Abad is recognized for co-curricular excellence. This year’s AY Foundation Award for National Discipline goes to Abegail C. Guiang.

 

Laboratory High School-Laoag

 

Beatriz Kay C. Datu, a resident of Brgy. San Mateo, Laoag City, and daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Joselito Datu, tops this year’s batch of 73 LHS-Laoag graduates. Graduating \"with high honors\", she obtained a GWA of 93.4523. She is also the highest achiever in science and social studies, scholastic excellence awardee, and recipient of the AY Foundation Award for National Discipline.

 

Mikhael Anjelu B. Magana also graduates \"with high honors\" coming in second with a GWA of 92.8846. He is highest achiever in Mathematics and MAPEH, and also the co-curricular excellence awardee.

 

Graduating \"with honors\" are Charmaine Zeny S. Rasos (91.8215), Marianne Angelina R. Lorenzo (91.6523), Fred Reinier C. Nagtalon (91.3866), Reigna Lyn A. Manding (90.9577), Johnly Febdane Madamba (90.8007), Kimberly S. Ramos (90.6013), John Alexis D. Ilacad (90.1537), Alecs Anico G. Pinzon (90.0034), and Mac Vicente E. Javier (89.8886).

 

Nagtalon is highest achiever in Filipino and English, and is recipient of the Gerry Roxas Leadership Award. Lorenzo is highest achiever in TLE.

 

Laboratory Elementary School

 

With a GWA of 93.6404, Lhorie Danne Jeanthrix P. Andres leads this year’s 75 graduates of the elementary department of the university. She is the daughter of SPO4 and Mrs. Danilo Andres of Brgy. 50, Airport Avenue, Laoag City. Aside from being valedictorian of the class, she is also the highest achiever in mathematics, EPP, HeKaSi, and English. She is the academic excellence awardee.

 

Graduating as salutatorian is Samantha Yvette Samonte, with a GWA of 93.4412. She is highest achiever in MSEPP, co-curricular excellence awardee, and leader of the year. Others in the honor roll are: Josiah Lance B. Bautista, first honorable mention (93.3356); Hanna Luisa A. Corpuz (91.9420), second honorable mention; and Rheajoy B. Diculen, third honorable mention (91.8008).

 

Bautista is highest achiever in science and English.

 

Graduating \"with distinction\" are: John Arvin N. Calaycay (91.6864), Chelsea Kayren Joy M. Blanes (90.8944), Marian P. Paguirigan (90.6232), Reina Nette R. Daguio (90.5340), and Laurice Faye A. Ranjo (90.1692).

 

Guest Speaker

 

First Lieutenant Geraldine Abigail Albano Hallar is a graduate of LHS-Laoag, Batch 2005. Hailing from Bacarra town, she is daughter of Mr. Francisco S. Hallar and Mrs. Vicenta A. Hallar.

 

She was the top woman graduate, and no. 4 overall, of the Philippine Military Academy’s Sanlingan Class of 2005.

 

A Fokker-27 pilot, Hallar also serves as assistant Chief for Administration and Personnel of the 221st Airlift Squadron of the Philippine Air Force.

 

Having received at least 20 awards, decorations, and letters of commendation, she was promoted to the rank of First Lieutenant in 2008.

 

The former LHS champion debater, public speaker, and multi-awarded writer had also served the Philippine Air Force in various capacities: as wing adjutant, administrative officer, public information officer, and aide-de-camp to the chief of air staff. She was also executive editor of the Air Force Way Magazine.
